Gregory Carew

Content Director at EF Education First

Gregory Carew has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Gregory started their career in 2000 as a part-time bookseller at Exclusive Books. In 2001, they began working as an acting coach and teacher at the Cape Academy of Dramatic Art and also started their own freelance acting coaching business. In 2006, they joined EF English First, where they held several positions including Senior Teacher, Study Coach Manager, Director of Studies, Senior Academic Trainer, and Senior Content Editor. In 2018, they started their own freelance company, Carew Freelance, where they worked as an EdTech writer and editor. More recently, in 2023, they joined EF Education First as a Content Director.

Gregory Carew holds a Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Trinity College in 2009. In 2001, they completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Ancient History from the University of Cape Town. Prior to that, in 1996, they received a Bachelor of Arts with Honors (B.A. (Hons)) in Ancient History and Archaeology from the same university. Additionally, in 2000, they obtained a Diploma in Speech and Drama (LAMDA) from the Cape Academy of Dramatic Art.
