C++ Embedded Software Engineer at EFFECT Photonics

Pieter Buitendijk has a diverse range of work experience in software development and engineering. Pieter has worked at various companies, including EFFECT Photonics, B/E Aerospace, Trident Microsystems, IREX Technologies, Draeger, TomTom, ASML, CEA Systems, and KPN Telecom.

At EFFECT Photonics, Pieter served as a C++ Embedded Software Engineer, where they maintained Final Assembly stations for the semiconductor industry. In addition, they had previous roles at MapScape and ASML, where they developed navigation map translation software and solved issues for Vacuum Gas Analyser control software, respectively.

At B/E Aerospace, Pieter worked as an Embedded Software Engineer, contributing to the development of high-speed steam ovens used in airplane galleys. Pieter was involved in the certification process and implemented safety protections in both hardware and software. Pieter also worked on the development of a low-cost convection oven project.

At Trident Microsystems, Pieter served as an Application Engineer, contributing to the development of demodulator IP used in terrestrial digital television reception. This IP was integrated into decoder ICs or MIPS-based SoCs for television and set-top-box manufacturers.

At IREX Technologies, Pieter worked as a Software Developer, responsible for the notepad application of the company's digital readers. These readers were used for reading ePub books and PDF documents and had the additional functionality of an electronic notepad.

At Draeger, Pieter worked as a Software Engineer, responsible for the software and test software for the Oxylog 3000plus transport ventilators used in emergency care settings. Pieter contributed to the development of medical ventilation equipment.

At TomTom, Pieter worked as a Software Developer, designing the diagnostic interface of the TMC receiver device used for traffic information.

At ASML, Pieter worked as a Software Developer, specifically focusing on the calibration software of alignment sensors in ASML waferscanners. These scanners were used in the semiconductor industry for precision positioning and overlay.

At CEA Systems, Pieter worked as a Software Developer, responsible for the MicroStation code of Plant4D. Pieter developed a plug-in system for application features in MicroStation and AutoCad.

At KPN Telecom, Pieter worked as an Oracle Developer, responsible for the implementation of data building blocks for the NeAd information system. Pieter also performed profiling and tuning of SQL queries for the system used in the maintenance of KPN's network.

Overall, Pieter has extensive experience in software development and engineering, with a focus on embedded systems, semiconductor industry applications, digital readers, medical equipment, navigation devices, and information systems.

Pieter Buitendijk began their education in 1986 at Albeda College in the Netherlands. Pieter pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering and completed their studies in 1990. Following this, they enrolled at De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences in 1990, where they focused on Electronics (telecommunication). Pieter completed their undergraduate studies in 1994, earning a bachelor's degree in Electronics (telecommunication).
