Mario Fontes

Mario Fontes is an accomplished professional with a background in civil and energy engineering. Currently serving as the President and Event Coordinator for Effective Altruism at UC Berkeley since January 2023, Mario has a diverse experience in project management and business development. Previously, Mario contributed to Vesta, PBC from May 2021 to May 2023, focusing on partnerships, outreach, project development, and data analysis. Demonstrating strong analytical skills, Mario held multiple roles as an Associate Consultant at BEACN from September 2019 to May 2021, working on various high-impact projects involving market research, technology feasibility assessments, and sustainable practices for clients like the Environmental Defense Fund, SolarReviews, and Genentech. Mario holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Energy Engineering from UC Berkeley, which was completed in May 2022.
