Marlie Barends

Marlie Barends is a senior adviseur at Lagerweij | Het Mens Effect since February 2025 and a senior people strategy consultant at Effectory since May 2019, where previously held the title of consultant. Prior experience includes a project manager role at CTcue from October 2017 to May 2019, and as a psychologist trainer at Universiteit van Amsterdam, delivering courses on leadership and effective communication for psychology students in 2016 and 2017. Marlie also worked as a winkelverantwoordelijke at Store for Brands and conducted BITE interviews at Verslavingszorg Noord Nederland (VNN). Involved in student leadership, Marlie served as a board member for the VIP study association in Groningen. Education includes two Master of Science degrees from the University of Amsterdam in Psychology, Training and Development, and Persuasive Communication, along with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Groningen, and a VWO diploma from Bogerman.
