Sophie Corlay has a diverse work experience in different roles and industries. Sophie is currently the Head of Brand & Communications at Effectory, where they focus on driving brand exposure in the Benelux and DACH market. Prior to this, they worked at Momentive.ai as the Director of Internal Communications and later as the Global Head of Internal Communications. In these roles, they developed strategic communication plans, served as a sparring partner for executives, and led the internal communications function for a global workforce. Sophie also served as the Head of Brand Communications and Content at Usabilla, where they managed brand messaging, marketing campaigns, and internal communication programs. Before that, they held marketing communications roles at Microsoft, where they led the consumer marketing communications team and worked as a Marketing Communications Manager. Sophie also gained experience as an intern at Ahold, Publicis Amsterdam, Neurensics, KNAW, and Politie Amsterdam-Amstelland. In these roles, they contributed to brand, strategy, research, and communication projects.

From 2010 to 2013, Sophie studied at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), where they obtained two Master's degrees. Sophie earned an MSc in Cognitive Neuropsychology and an MSc in Marketing & Communications.

Prior to that, from 2007 to 2010, Sophie attended Utrecht University, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Neurosciences.

Sophie's earlier education includes their time at Lycee International de Saint Germain-en-Laye from 2003 to 2007, during which they obtained a French Baccaleaureate and a Dutch VWO with Honors.

In addition to their academic achievements, Sophie has also obtained various certifications. In June 2021, they acquired a Day Skipper License from the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). In June 2019, they completed a course on Learning Natural Light Portrait Photography from LinkedIn. Furthermore, in June 2018, they obtained a Wine and Spirits Certificate (WSET level 2) from WSET — Wine & Spirit Education Trust. Sophie has also completed several certifications related to Content Marketing on LinkedIn, including ones on getting content published, using photos, creating slides, utilizing social media, and creating videos. Lastly, in April 2015, they became certified in MTA Networking Fundamentals by Microsoft.
