Gus Klidas

VP, Operations at EIA

Gus joins the EIA family with over thirty years of experience working with energy, utility, and heavy construction. Construction of such large structures requires extensive engineering and project management due diligence. After obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from NYIT, Gus honed his craft with LILCO while performing various management roles for seventeen years. He worked in and led teams that refitted power stations, built electric substations and gas regulator stations, and designed and installed thousands of miles of pipes and wires.

He has developed a solid foundation from being a part of and in managing construction operations. Gus learned that a team-oriented mentality and results-driven operation is the key to success. After LILCO, Gus obtained his Master's degree in Management Information Systems from the Polytechnic Institute of NY. The knowledge and skills that he learned allowed him to venture into the private sector of construction, where Gus successfully built the utility construction divisions for two privately held hundred million dollar companies. His skillsets and talent allowed him to perform Project Management, General Manager, and Vice President roles for these organizations and helped them grow in revenue year over year!

Gus assisted several construction companies by improving operations through cost and production metric development and implementation to sharpen his toolkit further. This at times involved the installation and training of third-party software or the development of databases and spreadsheets, which provided decision-makers the information they needed to be successful in their roles. His guiding principle in all his endeavors has been “operational excellence for sustainable success!”.
