Isabella Schalko is a research scientist who specializes in studying hydrodynamic and morphologic processes in rivers associated with wood placement. With a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Isabella has worked at various prestigious institutions such as ETH Zurich and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Isabella has expertise in wood recruitment and transport processes, flume experiments on sediment continuity, and numerical modeling of standing waves in rivers. Isabella is currently a lecturer and tenure-track research scientist at Eidg. Forschungsanstalt WSL.
