Piyumika Dissanayake

Piyumika Dissanayake has a diverse work experience in the field of UI/UX engineering. Piyumika began their career as a Trainee Web Developer at Living Dreams - Software & Web Solutions in January 2015. From June to July 2015, they worked as an Associate UI Developer, where they developed responsive and mobile-first websites. In August 2015, they joined xcendant as an Associate UI/UX Engineer, working on multiple projects involving hybrid mobile applications, learning management systems, and UX designing. Piyumika gained skills in working under minimal supervision, meeting tight deadlines, and juggling multiple projects simultaneously.

In November 2016, Piyumika worked as a UI Engineer at ACCELaero until February 2017. Piyumika then joined Eyepax IT Consulting (Pvt) Ltd. in March 2017 as a UI Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for UI development, particularly for the "Lasingoo" online garage booking application and an in-house travel application. Piyumika excelled in pixel-perfect HTML conversions, ensuring mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility. Piyumika frequently collaborated with the scrum team, had client meetings, and worked under strict deadlines.

From April 2020 to August 2022, Piyumika worked at Cloud Solutions International as a Senior UI/UX Engineer. As the module UI team lead, they led 7 modules, including the main module EHR (Electronic Health Record) of the Health Care web application "VIDA +." Piyumika reported to the Product Manager and closely worked with the scrum team, UX designers, and engineers to translate concepts into prototypes and implement them. Their responsibilities included HTML conversions, UI fine-tuning, UI/UX improvements, UI revamps, and bug fixes. Piyumika actively participated in requirement gathering, planning, retrospectives, and client meetings.

Most recently, as of August 2022, they joined EIGHT25MEDIA as a Senior UI/UX Engineer.

Piyumika Dissanayake completed their education at various institutions. Piyumika attended Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya from 1996 to 2009 for their primary and secondary education. In 2010, they enrolled at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information and Communication Technology in 2014. Additionally, they earned another Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from the same university during the same period. Piyumika then pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Moratuwa from 2017 to 2020, where they obtained an MBA (IT) (BA) degree specializing in Business Analytics. Apart from their formal education, Piyumika also acquired certifications in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and User Experience: The Beginner's Guide from The Interaction Design Foundation in 2021, demonstrating their commitment to expand their knowledge in these fields.
