Sinead Dooley has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Sinead is currently the Head of Public Engagement at EirGrid since February 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Deputy CEO at Irish Rural Link from July 2017 to February 2021. Sinead also has a background in politics, having served as an Elected Public Representative for Offaly County Council from June 2004 to August 2017. During their time at the council, they held various leadership positions including Former Chairperson (June 2014 - June 2015) and Chairperson (June 2011 - June 2012). Sinead has also worked in the government sector, serving as a PA to An Taoiseach at the Department of An Taoiseach from May 2008 to March 2010, and as a Personal Assistant to the Minister for Finance and Tanaiste at the Department of Finance Ireland from 2004 to January 2008. Sinead started their career at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ireland, where they worked as a Personal Assistant to the Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2000 to 2004.
Sinead Dooley attended St. Joseph & St. Saran's Secondary School in Ferbane, Co. Offay from 1984 to 1989. During this time, they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study. Later, Sinead Dooley enrolled at the Technology University of the Shannon, Athlone Campus, where they completed a BA in Business Enterprise & Community Development. Additionally, they obtained a BA (Hons) in Social Enterprise, Leadership & Management, with a field of study in Business Administration, Management, and Operations, also from the Technology University of the Shannon, Athlone Campus.
