Jayne Brookman

Chief Partnership Officer at EIT Food

Jayne Brookman is the current Director of EIT Food North-West. Jayne has over 20 years of experience in the food and agriculture industries, specializing in knowledge transfer and business support.

Jayne began their career in 2000 as the founder and director of F2G Ltd, a research services consultancy focused on the pharmaceutical and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors. In 2004, they founded Merigan RS Ltd, which provided similar services to businesses interested in developing new products.

In 2007, Brookman joined Biosciences KTN as a knowledge transfer manager. In this role, they worked to improve the profitability of UK food-based businesses by improving their uptake of innovation from the science base. Jayne became the food sector lead in 2011 and held this position until 2014.

Brookman then joined the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) as an agrifood specialist. In this role, they worked with businesses to improve their understanding and use of innovation in the agrifood sector. Jayne held this position until 2020.

Brookman has been with EIT Food since 2020, first as a senior manager and then as director of EIT Food North-West. In this role, they are responsible for leading a team of food industry experts who work to improve the competitiveness of the UK food sector.

Jayne Brookman's educational career began with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Bath. Jayne then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy in Swansea.

Jayne Brookman works with Charlotte Knowles - COO, Paola Giavedoni - Director, Innovation, and Martine van Veelen - Director, EIT Food West. Jayne Brookman reports to Andy Zynga, CEO.
