Beth McClure is a seasoned professional in the field of chemistry with a focus on analytical science and research. Currently serving as the Senior Manager of the Trace Analytical Lab at E. & J. Gallo Winery since July 2014, Beth specializes in wine analysis and troubleshooting chemical issues. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral researcher role at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where extensive expertise in UV-Visible and Infrared spectroscopy for artificial photosynthesis was developed. A graduate research assistantship at Ohio University involved synthesizing and characterizing photochromic complexes and maintaining advanced laser systems. Earlier roles as a teaching assistant and undergraduate researcher laid the foundation for a strong academic background, culminating in a PhD in Inorganic/Physical Chemistry from Ohio University and a B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Physics from John Carroll University.

Ernest and Julio Gallo started E&J Gallo Winery in 1933. Julio, who died in 1993, was in charge of making the wine, and Ernest, who died in 2007, was responsible for selling the wine. Gallo wines include Turning Leaf, Twin Valley, Single Vineyard, Red Bicyclette and Ecco Domani. Joseph Gallo, Ernest's son, is chief executive, while a number of other family members work for the company.
