Forestry Director at Ejido Verde

Raúl Rodríguez is the current Forestry Director at Ejido Verde. Prior to this, they served as the Operations Manager for the forestry division at Proteak from May 2013 to April 2020. In this role, they were responsible for the establishment and maintenance of teak plantations, as well as preparing, controlling, and executing the annual budget for direct costs associated with site preparation, planting, maintenance, and pest & prescribed burning. Raúl also designed and established operative field trials regarding different fertilization doses, stand density, prunning, thinning, weed control and different basal area.

Raúl Rodríguez has a long history of experience in the forestry industry. Raúl started their career as a field supervisor and has since held various positions of increasing responsibility. Raúl has coached field supervisors to ensure efficient planting and maintenance planning, and has performed growth analysis through the teak annual inventory. Raúl also reformed the initial planting density in teak from 1100 plants/hectares to 850 plants/hectares, using 100% clone composition - an change that resulted in 15% savings in labor hand for planting and 22% savings in plant cost and fertilizer application per hectare. In their most recent role as Operations Manager at Proteak, they developed a safety-sustainability program for the pruning process that reduced on-site workers accidents by 35%.

Raúl Rodríguez has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Forestry Management from North Carolina State University. Raúl also has a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Additionally, they have a certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) from Juran Institute and a diploma in Finance, General from Universidad José Antonio Páez.

Raúl Rodríguez reports to Shaun Paul, CEO. They work with Antoine Cocle - CFO, Osvaldo Farías - Manager of Finance & Administration.
