Mike Barnes

Mike Barnes serves as a County Fire Commissioner for El Paso County, providing oversight in fire protection and education for the citizens within the Emergency Services District. With previous experience as the Former Chief of Police at Fort Bliss, Former DES SGM at Directorate of Emergency Services, and Former Garrison Command Sergeant Major at United States Army Garrison Fort Bliss, Mike has a strong background in public safety and leadership within the military and civilian sectors. Mike also has experience as a Command Sergeant Major/Operations Sergeant Major in Guantanamo Bay and Iraq, demonstrating their expertise in military operations and leadership. Additionally, Mike holds a Bachelor's degree in Business and has completed various military education programs.
