James Austin V

James Austin V, DNP, CNM, IBCLC, serves as a Certified Nurse Midwife at El Rio Community Health Center since October 2022. Previously, James held the position of Registered Nurse at Maniilaq Health Center from July 2020 to November 2022, and contributed as a Graduate Student at Seattle University while pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice from June 2017 to December 2021. James also has experience as a part-time trainer with Upstream USA and worked in various nursing roles with Maxim Healthcare Services and Sea Mar Community Health Centers, focusing on maternity support services. Earlier in his career, James demonstrated leadership skills as the Director of Ivy League Camps and provided childcare and educational support in multiple nanny/caregiver roles. James holds a BA in Spanish, Education, and Studio Art from Dartmouth College.
