Kay Patel

Kay Patel has 20 years of work experience in the field of tax accounting. Currently, they hold the position of Tax Director at Elara Caring, where they have been working since March 2019. Prior to this, Kay worked as a Tax Manager at Farmers Brothers Coffee from November 2015 to March 2019. They also held the position of Sr. Tax Accountant at Quicksilver Resources Inc. from July 2014 to November 2015.

Before joining Quicksilver Resources Inc., Kay worked as a Sr. Tax Accountant at Lufthansa Service Group from November 2010 to 2013. They were responsible for preparing federal and state corporate income and franchise tax returns, as well as quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions. They also handled inquiries from various taxing authorities.

Before that, Kay worked as a Senior Tax Accountant at Afiliated Computer Services Inc. from August 2009 to January 2010 and at United Surgical Partners from January 2005 to June 2009. They also gained experience as a Tax Accountant at Ernst & Young, LLP from July 2004 to October 2004, and as a Tax Manager at Kurtz & Company from May 2004 to July 2004.

Kay started their career in tax accounting as a Tax Preparer at Judd, Thomas, Smith & Co from January 2004 to April 2004. During their time there, they prepared individual, corporation, and partnership tax returns using Prosystem software, handled special projects and write-ups, and made adjusting journal entries.

Prior to their career in tax accounting, Kay worked as a Senior Accountant at Trammell Crow Company from February 2002 to February 2003.

Kay Patel obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Tax from San Francisco State University in 1995, after completing five years of education at the university from 1990 to 1995.
