Carolyn Herzog is the Chief Legal Officer at Elastic. Carolyn was previously a Board Member and Vice President of the European Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel from October 2011 to October 2014. Carolyn Herzog became the Chief Compliance Officer, Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Symantec in June 2016 and held that position until January 2017. From July 2013 to June 2016, they were VP, Head of Legal, EMEA at Symantec.

Carolyn Herzog received their B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis in French Language and Literature, Music. Carolyn then attended [Vanderbilt University](/org/vanderbilt-university) for French before going to La Sorbonne - Pantheon-Assas for European/French law. Finally, they completed their JD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in International Law.

Carolyn Herzog

Ken Exner brings three decades of experience leading product and engineering teams. Prior to joining Elastic, he spent 16 years at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he built and managed dozens of products used by millions of customers worldwide.

Most recently, Exner served as vice president and general manager of AWS Developer Tools, where he ran a portfolio of more than 30 products. He holds a bachelor of science degree from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

Sheers leads Elastic’s business strategy and operations in APJ and is responsible for overall business growth, particularly strategic growth initiatives and long-term strategies to drive cloud hypergrowth, opportunities in new market segments, and increase customer lifetime value.

Sheers offers over 20 years of executive-level experience leading high-performing, customer-centric teams at some of the world’s largest cloud and enterprise technology companies. He joined Elastic from Microsoft, where he served as chief partner officer, APJ, responsible for building the partner ecosystem across Asia to improve sales performance.

Prior to this role, Sheers was Microsoft’s managing director for New Zealand. Sheers also held senior positions leading the APJ region at Dell Software Group, Quest Software, Sybase and EMC.

Michael Cremen is the current Chief Sales Officer at [Elastic](/org/elastic). Prior to this, they served as the Chief Revenue Officer at [Cohesity](/org/cohesity) from November 2019 to October 2021. From December 2017 to November 2019, Cremen was the Senior Vice President of Americas Sales at Veritas Technologies LLC. In January 2017, they joined IBM as a Portfolio Executive but left later that year. Cremen spent almost a decade at Hitachi Data Systems where they served as the Executive Vice President of Global Sales from June 2008 to March 2017 and as the General Manager of Asia Pacific from January 2000 to December 2008.

Michael Cremen attended the Executive Development Program at The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Michael then completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Marketing from [Monmouth University](/org/monmouth-university). Michael Cremen began their educational career by completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from The College of New Jersey. Michael then went on to attend the Executive Management Program at The Wharton School.

I believe finding beauty and excelling is a combination of perspective and grit. As someone who got into computers by counting the number of job postings in the newspaper, I love building things — a product, a community, or a company — and the process of acquiring the knowledge to do so.

I hold a BA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and an MBA from Berkeley’s Haas School Business. Leibowitz has spent her career at the intersection of financial services and technology. She advises organizations in digital transformation, IT portfolio and risk management, information security and digital trust, performance metrics, and effective governance. She is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations and sits on numerous boards and councils, including the NY Board of BuildOn, a not-for-profit that runs service and learning programs in urban high schools across the United States.
