Tom Shafer

Tom Shafer has a diverse work experience in the field of data science. Tom started their career at Elder Research, Inc. in 2016 as a Data Scientist and gradually progressed to roles such as Senior Data Scientist, Lead Data Scientist, and currently holds the position of Principal Data Scientist. Tom has been with the company since 2016.

Prior to joining Elder Research, Inc., Tom worked at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Tom started as a Teaching Assistant in 2009 and later became a Research Assistant. Their tenure at the university lasted from 2009 to 2015.

Tom Shafer earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and Mathematics from the University of North Carolina Wilmington from 2005-2009. Tom then went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2009-2016.
