Kate Burson has a diverse background in business development, energy, and law. In 2021, they became the Head of Business Development at Overstory. In 2020, they were the Principal at KCB Advisers and Co-founder at eldera.ai, a platform that pairs kids with vetted elders for virtual story time. In 2018, they took a sabbatical and relocated from New York to Europe. From 2016-2018, they were the Business Development Lead at Tesla Motors. From 2013-2016, they were the Chief of Staff to the Chairman of Energy and Finance for New York. In 2011, they were the Special Assistant to the Governor for Energy Efficiency. From 2008-2011, they were the Assistant Attorney General in the Investor Protection Bureau at the Office of the New York State Attorney General.
Kate Burson obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History from Vanderbilt University in 2002, following four years of study from 1998 to 2002. Kate then attended Washington University in St. Louis, where they earned their Juris Doctor in Law in 2007.
