Guilherme Defendi

Guilherme Defendi has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries. Guilherme began their career as a Process Engineer at ArcelorMittal Brasil, followed by various roles at Vale, including Senior R&D Metallurgical Engineer and Marketing Strategy Manager. Guilherme later co-founded PixlBux before taking on roles at Rio Tinto, such as Portfolio Strategy Manager and Sr. Manager of Product Strategy and Technical Marketing. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Technical Marketing at Electra. Throughout their career, Guilherme has demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, technical marketing, and product development within the mining and steel industry.

Guilherme Defendi holds a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, achieved in 2002. Guilherme then pursued a Master of Science in Metallurgical and Materials Science from the same university, completing it in 2006. In 2014, they obtained an Executive MBA in Business Administration and Management from Fundação Dom Cabral. Most recently, in 2018, they completed a Master of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Technology from the University of Waterloo.
