Michael Cortese

Michael Cortese has extensive experience in both military and civilian sectors, primarily in strategic analysis and government relations. At General Dynamics Electric Boat, Michael has held multiple roles since April 2008, advancing from Manager of Strategic Analysis to Director. Prior to this, Michael served in the United States Navy from 1982 to May 2008, achieving the rank of Naval Officer and undertaking various assignments within the Submarine Force, including Commanding Officer of USS West Virginia (SSBN 736)(BLUE) from 2000 to 2003. Michael's educational credentials include a Master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College and a Master's in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the United States Naval Academy.
