John Bolander

Senior Engineer - Data, Modeling and Simulation at Electric Hydrogen Co.

John Bolander has a diverse work experience spanning from 2011 to 2021. Their career began with internships at Apple (2011) and Nest (2012), followed by a Program Manager Intern role at Microsoft (2013). In 2014, they joined Tesla Motors as a Systems Design/Architecture Engineer and Electrical Engineer. In 2018, they moved to Joby Aviation as a Systems Simulation and Data Science Engineer, where they led a team of 5+ engineers modeling the powertrain including battery algorithms and electrochemical modeling. John also developed and directed electrical, thermal, and mechanical models to run in a C++ simulation framework, and built fundamental data technologies for pipelines, analysis, and model formation (Spark, asyncio, Pandas, etc.). From 2010 to 2014, they were the Lead Electrical Engineer at the Stanford Solar Car Team, where they were responsible for the design/development of the next electrical system, scheduled and assisted in long term design projects, made high and low level design decisions, contacted potential sponsors and raised tens of thousands of dollars in cash or supplies, designed, tested, and implemented the power electronics, communications, and LED board the solar car lights, and worked on developing a program optimizing vehicle drive speed during the race. In 2021, they joined Electric Hydrogen Co. as a Senior Engineer - Data, Modeling and Simulation.

John Bolander attended Stanford University from 2009 to 2013, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. John then returned to Stanford University from 2013 to 2014, where they earned a Master of Science in Management Science and Engineering. John also attended St. X, but no further information is provided.
