Brad Islam began their career in 1989 as a CAE Engineer at General Motors, where they developed chassis and suspension structures using CAE (durability and fatigue, stiffness, and modal) and Tests. Brad then took on the role of Sr Design Release Engineer and Sr CAE Structures Engineer, where they led vehicles body and closures structure development to improve vehicle performance using CAE (durability, NVH, frequency, random vibrations), and Tests. In 2018, they moved to General Dynamics as a Sr CAE Engineer. Brad continued in a similar role at Sika in 2019 as a Sr CAE Engineer, leading product development using CAE crash safety, durability, and NVH. In 2021, they joined ELMS: Electric Last Mile Solutions as Lead CAE Engineer (& CAE Manager), leading EV electric vehicle development to improve vehicle performance using CAE/FEA full vehicle crash safety (crashworthiness & occupant simulation), vehicle structure durability, NVH, frequency response, random vibrations, and EV battery, and Tests.
Brad Islam received their MS in Mechanical Engineering from UT-Knoxville, USA and a DFSS Black Belt.
