Marco Cavallone

Ingénieur Chercheur

Marco Cavallone is an experienced engineer with a strong background in nuclear engineering and radiation therapy. Currently serving as an Ingénieur chercheur at EDF since July 2023, Marco focuses on optimizing nuclear reactor core fuel reload. Prior experience includes a role as Ingénieur R&D at Evolution Energie, where development of energy management software took place, and as an Ingénieur chercheur at Institut Curie, where a treatment planning system for proton minibeam radiation therapy was developed. Marco's academic journey includes a PhD application at Polytechnique, culminating in expertise in particle transport techniques, beamline design, and radiobiology. Additional educational achievements include a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Sapienza Università di Roma, along with practical experience from internships in nuclear fusion and international exposure through an Erasmus program. Marco has also contributed as treasurer of a PhD student association and co-supervised master’s internships. Multiple scholarships have recognized Marco's academic excellence.
