Damien McGuinness has a diverse work experience in a range of financial roles. Damien began their career at Deloitte as a Trainee Chartered Accountant, working with clients in various industries. Damien then moved to KPMG Ireland as an Insolvency Senior, specializing in property, hospitality, manufacturing, and retail. Afterward, they worked as a Business Analyst at AMP, providing analysis and reporting for a nationwide project. Damien then joined Stryker South Pacific as a Commercial/Financial Analyst, supporting the Operations Department.

In 2015, Damien joined Electric Ireland as a Finance Business Partner, responsible for financial performance and strategic projects. Damien later transitioned to ESB Customer Solutions, first as a Finance Business Partner for Strategy & Performance and then as the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, leading the establishment of the FPA Function. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Finance Customer Solutions, overseeing residential and smart energy services.

Damien McGuinness obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business/Commerce from the University of Galway in 2007. Damien continued their education at the same institution and earned a Master of Accountancy degree in Accounting and Finance in 2008. Damien then pursued further education at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland where they obtained their Chartered Accountant degree in Accounting and Business/Management in 2011.
