John Paul O'Brien

John Paul O'Brien is an experienced engineering and management professional with a strong focus on renewable energy, particularly solar power. Currently serving as the Head of Solar Project Delivery for Statkraft since September 2022, O'Brien leads the construction of large-scale Solar PV power plants in Ireland. O'Brien also holds the position of Environment Manager at ESB since August 2015, overseeing environmental management and health safety at an EPA licensed facility, while contributing as a Project Director in the Solar Asset Development Team. Prior roles include Associate Engineer at WSP Environment & Energy, Engineering Design Manager at Solarcentury, and various engineering positions at Cork County Council, Morgan Tucker, and Clare County Council, with a solid academic foundation in Energy & Environmental Engineering and Civil Engineering.
