Jakob Larsson is an experienced Imaging Physicist currently working at Elekta since September 2025. Before this role, Jakob served as an X-ray scientist at Excillum from January 2025 to June 2025. As a co-founder of Exciscope from 2020 to April 2025, Jakob contributed significantly to the development of X-ray 3D microscopes utilizing phase-contrast imaging and CT, taking on various responsibilities such as product management, software design, and compliance work. Additionally, Jakob holds a certification as an X-ray radiation safety officer from the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority. Previously, Jakob worked as a postdoctoral researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology from November 2018 to April 2021, focusing on phase-contrast X-ray imaging. Jakob earned a PhD in Physics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2018 and a Master of Science in Engineering Physics from the same institution in 2013, alongside research experience at The University of Tokyo.
