Justin Wilson

Justin Wilson has extensive experience in finance and risk management. Justin is currently working as the Director of Risk Management at Element Fleet Management, where they operationalize and executes hedging strategies for various entities. Before this, Justin worked as the Director of Treasury at FirstOntario Credit Union and as a Consultant for Credit Card at Meridian Credit Union. Justin also has experience as a Finance Consultant at Newfab, Inc.

Prior to their roles at credit unions, Justin had a long tenure at Meridian Credit Union, where they held positions such as Director of ALM and Liquidity, Senior Manager of Asset Liability Management, and Senior Analyst. In these roles, they were responsible for leading performance management processes, developing and implementing risk management frameworks, and providing comprehensive measurement and reporting on interest rate and liquidity risk.

Justin also has experience in the oil industry, having worked at BP as a Financial Analyst and Product Control Analyst. Justin was responsible for monitoring trading book exposure, profit and loss, and market risk, as well as introducing efficiencies for exposure reporting and management.

Earlier in their career, Justin worked at BGC Partners as a Treasury Product Control Analyst, ensuring correct capital charges, reconciling cash positions, and analyzing foreign currency exposure. Justin also worked as an Accounts Assistant at BP, where they were involved in month-end reporting, reconciling physical stocks, and performing variance analysis.

Justin Wilson obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Management, Financial Management, Accounting, and Communication Management from the University of Pretoria from 2003 to 2006. In 2009, they became a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) through the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada). From 2009 to 2012, Justin pursued further education in Accounting and Finance, earning a degree in Chartered Management Accounts from CPA Canada.
