Inez McGregor

Inez McGregor has a diverse work experience that spans several industries and roles. In 2012, McGregor worked at the University of Cape Town as a History Tutor, where they marked essays and ran seminars for first-year students. From 2014 to 2019, McGregor managed and owned Allstar Fencing South Africa. Later, McGregor worked as an Assistant Archivist at the South African History Archive from an unknown start date until May 2019, where they maintained archival standards, digitized materials, and provided basic IT support. McGregor then joined Afrapix Photography Project as a Project Archivist from June to September 2019, where they developed a controlled vocabulary, created catalog listings, and edited digital images. From September 2020 to March 2021, McGregor worked as an Information Governance Intern at Element. Inez then progressed as an Information Governance Officer at the same company until February 2023, fulfilling responsibilities such as maintaining compliance registers and running employee training. Currently, McGregor holds the position of Policy and Compliance Manager at Element, starting in February 2023.

Inez McGregor completed their education at various institutions. Inez obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Archives and Records Management from UCL in 2020. In 2015, they completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Science at the University of Cape Town. In 2012, they pursued Historical Studies Honours at the same institution. McGregor received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economic History, Economics, and Classical Studies from the University of Cape Town in the years 2008-2011. Inez'shigh school education was completed at Herschel Girls School, although no specific dates are provided. McGregor also obtained certification as an ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Lead Implementer from BSI in September 2022.
