Yacov Malen M.P.H. has held a variety of positions in their career, beginning with a Combat Soldier role in the Israel Defense Forces in 2003. In 2006, they worked as a Senior Student Consultant at Boston University, providing technical support for professors, staff, and students. Yacov then worked as an IT Technician at AAI Corporation from 2008 to 2009, providing tier I and tier II technical support for a 2500+ employee company. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as a Fire Fighter I at the Silver Spring Volunteer Fire Department, providing quality EMS and rescue services to the Greater Silver Spring area of Montgomery County, Maryland. From 2010 to 2012, they worked as a Consultant and Product Engineer at TRX Systems, Inc., performing quality assurance, data collection, technical writing and software programming. From 2012 to 2019, they worked at Trax Retail, where they were a Python Developer and Integration Engineer for IoT, a Jira Administrator, an Automation Team Leader, and a Quality Assurance Engineer. From 2019 to 2021, they worked at Broadcom Inc. as a Scrum Master/Lead and a Software Engineer III. Currently, they are a Customer Integration and Extension Team Lead and Integration Lead at Eleos Health, managing the end-to-end application flow from the database to the user-interface. Yacov also served as a Medical Ops Officer (Reserves) in the Israel Defense Forces from 2015 to 2021.
Yacov Malen obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Tel Aviv University in 2013, with a focus in Disaster and Emergency Management. Yacov previously obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Boston University in 2008, majoring in Mathematics. In 2010, they obtained a Certificate in Computer Programming from Northeastern University School of Professional and Continuing Studies. Yacov Malen also holds certifications in AI For Everyone from Coursera (2020), EMT from Magen David Adom in Israel (2017), Firefighter I from MFSPQB (2011), and Emergency Medical Technician - Basic from Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (2010).
