Summary

Elephas, a Madison, WI-based biotechnology start-up company, is seeking a highly motivated Lab Technician to join our team on a 2nd Shift work schedule. Applicants should be comfortable in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will directly contribute to the development of Elephas’ cancer diagnostics platform.

Shift Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, 15:00 – 23:00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle live biological specimens safely and free from contamination in tissue culture
  • Process live and fixed biological specimens
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Communicate with various stakeholders regarding instrument performance and process bottlenecks
  • Adhere to all safety protocols
  • Keep accurate and timely records in electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Perform operations to meet quality expectations throughout the process
  • General lab maintenance as needed

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Associate's degree or higher in lab technology, microscopy, instrumentation, biology or related field is preferred but not required, if relevant work experience is applicable
  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments and production equipment
  • Experience in safe tissue handling methods
