Senior Sound Designer at Elevate Labs

Kenny Pickett has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Kenny currently holds the position of Senior Sound Designer at Elevate Labs since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Sound Designer at the same company from May 2021 to December 2022.

Before joining Elevate Labs, Kenny worked at Pixar Animation Studios for a significant duration. Kenny started their journey at Pixar in June 2013 and held various roles during their tenure. Kenny initially served as a Sound Assistant from June 2013 to January 2014, followed by an Assistant Sound Editor role from January 2014 to November 2015. Subsequently, they worked as an Associate Music & Sound Editor/Mixer from November 2015 to April 2019, where they provided sound supervision, custom sound design, and final re-recording mix for various projects. Their responsibilities also included supporting the Senior Sound Editor/Mixer with audience preview mixes and creating custom short-form documentaries for Blu-ray feature release. From April 2019 to May 2021, Kenny worked as a Music & Sound Editor/Mixer, Ancillary at Pixar, where they provided support for animated feature films and ancillary content as a creative sound specialist.

Prior to their employment at Pixar, Kenny had a brief stint as a Production Technician at Cision from June 2012 to January 2014. Their responsibilities included finding and editing specific content for clients, delivering polished edited pieces, and creating highlight reels for multi-market distribution.

In 2012, Kenny worked as a Stage Manager at KTVU Channel 2. Their role involved providing production and administrative assistance before, during, and after newscasts. Kenny was responsible for tasks such as studio setup, testing equipment, operating teleprompter, and troubleshooting issues during live newscasts.

Kenny also gained experience in the film industry as a Location Sound Mixer and Boom Operator for the feature film "White Rabbit" while working at Boxcar Pictures from November 2011 to October 2012.

During their early career, Kenny interned as a Post Production Intern at Pixar Animation Studios from June 2011 to September 2011. Kenny digitized production dialog data, archived files, and worked with AVID Media Composer.

Before entering the field of sound and entertainment, Kenny worked at Starbucks Coffee Company as a Barista and Learning Coach from November 2007 to June 2011.

Kenny Pickett's education history includes attending SAE Expression College from 2009 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Sound Arts. Prior to that, they attended Diablo Valley College from 2006 to 2009, for general education, but did not receive a specific degree. In addition, Kenny Pickett has obtained certifications such as the Pro Tools HD9 Post Production Operator from Avid in June 2011, and the Apple Logic Pro 9 Certified Master from Apple Inc. in March 2010.
