Yinying Tao

Yinying Tao is an experienced leader in biopharmaceutical development, currently serving as Senior Director of Virology and Purification Development at Eli Lilly and Company since September 2020. Tao has a strong background in overseeing cross-functional teams in drug substance, drug product, and analytical device development, with demonstrated expertise in CMC strategy and regulatory authoring, including participation in FDA meetings. Previous roles include Director of Virology and Purification Development and Principal Research Scientist at Biogen Idec, where Tao focused on monoclonal antibody purification processes and platform improvements. Tao's academic credentials include a PhD in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s in Protein Chromatography, both from the University of Virginia.
