Joseph Gonsalves

Joseph Gonsalves is currently a researcher for the Hospitalist Time Motion Study at UChicago Medicine, where work is conducted under Dr. Justin Porter, MD. Additionally, Joseph serves as a Patent Owner at USPTO, with the commercialization of granted patent # 11766573 for a "Defibrillator with Warning Indicators" underway. Joseph has also gained experience as an Emergency Medical Technician at Elite Ambulance-IL, completing over 2500 hours of patient transport in emergency situations. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Intern, where interviews were conducted with over 500 patients to assess life experiences leading to hospitalization. Joseph is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Chicago, expected to graduate in June 2025.
