Amanda Kaplan

Curriculum Developer and Editor, Mathematics at Ellevation Education

Amanda Kaplan has a diverse work experience that spans from 2004 to 2022. Amanda started their career as an Educator at Dolphin Quest Bermuda in August 2005 and worked there until November 2008. From May 2004 to December 2014, they also worked as an Educator at the Seacoast Science Center. Amanda then transitioned into the academic sector, starting as a Mathematics Educator at Moharimet Elementary School in February 2015 and ending in June 2018. During their time at Moharimet Elementary School, Amanda also served as a Math Coach from February 2016 to June 2018.

In June 2019, Amanda joined Great Minds where they held the role of Curriculum Developer and Professional Development Implementation Support. Their responsibilities included developing state-aligned editions of Eureka Math for various states, researching alignment needs, creating blueprints for curriculum development, and providing implementation support to Eureka Math users. Amanda also delivered professional development and designed in-person and online training programs. Amanda remained with Great Minds until March 2022.

Most recently, Amanda Kaplan has joined Ellevation Education as a Curriculum Developer and Editor, focusing on Mathematics. Amanda started in May 2022, and there is no specified end date for their current role at Ellevation Education.

Amanda Kaplan completed a Master's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Franklin Pierce University between 2010 and 2013. Amanda also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography from the University of New Hampshire during the period of 1998 to 2002. Additionally, Amanda earned a Master of Education (MEd) in Elementary Education and Teaching from Franklin Pierce University, although the specific years of completion are unknown. Furthermore, they have attained two additional certifications: "Learning How to Increase Learner Engagement" and "Teaching Techniques: Creating Multimedia Learning" from LinkedIn, which were obtained in April 2020.
