John Powell

John Powell currently serves as the School Principal at Ellington Public Schools since July 2023. Previously, John held various leadership positions at the American International School of Lagos from July 2015 to July 2023, including Middle School/High School Principal and Interim Middle School Principal, as well as serving as a Science Teacher. Prior experience includes serving as Upper School Principal and Science Teacher at North Jakarta Intercultural School from July 2013 to June 2015, and High School and AP Science Teacher at Tolland High School from August 2000 to June 2013. John Powell holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from American College of Education, a Master's degree in Biology from Central Connecticut State University, a Professional Educator Certificate in Science from Connecticut Alternate Route to Certification, and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Connecticut.
