Shaju Jacob

Shaju is a Managing Attorney of Ellis Porter. He also plays a leading role in the firm’s Technology and Automotive practice teams. Shaju’s clients include employers and individuals in the Technology, IT Consulting, Automotive, and Engineering fields. In addition to his expertise with work visas and employment-based green card strategies, Shaju is well known as a PERM guru, a talent he uses to help our clients navigate the incredibly complex labor certification process with unexpected ease.

Shaju has also developed a reputation among clients for developing creative strategies to combat the many sticky immigration issues faced by IT Consulting and Staffing companies.

Clients are consistently impressed with Shaju's around-the-clock responsiveness and his ability to manage client projects with amazing efficiency. He is also a great communicator (his nickname in college was "The Mayor") with an entertainer's flair (he's a highly sought-after MC on the Indian wedding circuit) and he makes speaking with an immigration attorney something to look forward to, not something to dread.

Shaju started his legal career as a criminal law attorney, but soon found that his true calling was in immigration law. As the son of immigrant parents from India, Shaju experienced first hand the challenges and opportunities of the immigration journey. Shaju believes that immigration is "America's Secret Weapon" and his own personal experience inspires him to make it easier for our clients to contribute their unique and valuable talents to benefit the United States.

Outside the office, Shaju enjoys martial arts, reading, Detroit Lions football, Detroit Pistons basketball and anything with Velveeta on it.
