Ben Murphy currently serves as a Lecturer in the English Department at Elon University since June 2022. Prior to this role, Ben was an Editorial Assistant at Duke University Press, working with the managing editor of American Literature from June 2019 to June 2022. Ben also contributed as a Staff Writer for PopMatters on a freelance basis, writing essays and reviews on various cultural topics from January 2019 to June 2022. At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Ben gained extensive experience as a Graduate Teaching Fellow, Processing Specialist in the Music Library, and tutor for student-athletes, while also serving two terms as a Peer Mentor. Ben held the position of Book Reviews Editor at The Carolina Quarterly from January 2017 to January 2019 and tutored peers at Houghton College's Writing Center and worked as a Circulation Assistant at Houghton College's library during undergraduate studies. Ben earned a Doctor of Philosophy in English (American Literature) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities & Writing from Houghton University.
