Blake Hament

Blake Hament is an Assistant Professor at Elon University since August 2023, focusing on robotics research in areas such as agricultural assistance for small-scale farms, environmental monitoring, and robotic aides for diverse individuals. Prior experience includes co-founding Mojave Meadows Mycology as CTO, where Blake applied experimental AI technologies to mushroom cultivation from August 2021 to September 2023. Additionally, Blake contributed as a researcher at the Drones and Autonomous Systems Lab at UNLV, emphasizing perception, manipulation, and intelligence for mobile robots, while working on projects for Tesla and Lockheed Martin. Other roles include data analysis for transportation agencies, NVIDIA Applied Research Accelerator, robotics education for K-12, and teaching computer science and geoscience as a Teach for America Corps Member. Blake holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, complemented by a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Duke University.
