Kent Long

A Bay Area native, Kent has over 30 years of management and developer experience in the software industry. An expert in operating systems and computer-controlled devices, Kent has worked for a variety of successful Silicon Valley companies at all stages of growth.

Kent Joined Wind River Systems as part of the original VxWorks real-time operating system development team, when it was a small start-up in Emeryville, and helped grow the company into a major publicly traded software provider. After becoming the first engineer to be promoted to manager, Kent became Director of OS Development, leading all aspects of operating system design and support across many different hardware architectures. During this time, VxWorks established itself as an industry standard, generating over $100M/year in revenue.
