Maria Marta Pastina has a strong background in genetics and plant breeding. Maria Marta began their career at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture, University of São Paulo, where they completed a Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding from 2005 to 2010. Afterward, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Genetics and Plant Breeding at the same institution from May 2010 to September 2012.
In 2012, Maria Marta joined Embrapa Maize and Sorghum as a Research Scientist. Maria Marta held this position until October 2019 when they were promoted to Head of R&D at Embrapa Maize and Sorghum, a role they currently hold.
Maria Marta Pastina attended USP - Universidade de São Paulo from 2005 to 2010. The degree name and field of study during this time are unknown. In 2009, they participated in a sandwich program at Wageningen University & Research, where they pursued a Ph.D. in QTL mapping and mixed models.
