Kevin Fowler

Kevin Fowler has a strong background in software engineering, with experience in various roles and industries. Kevin currently works at Embue as a Software Engineer. Previously, they worked as a Sabbatical / Consulting professional, where they developed R programs for data analysis in legal cases and taught R language to students. Before that, they were a Network Development Principal Engineer at Dell, where they specialized in obtaining federal certifications and cryptography standards. Prior to that, Kevin held various positions at Force10 Networks, including Director of Software Engineering, Director of Technical Program Management, and Director of Dataplane Software. Kevin started their career at Bellcore (now Telcordia) as a Member of Technical Staff, focusing on telecom vendor product analysis and SS7 protocols. Kevin Fowler has an extensive education history in the field of physics. Kevin obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Theoretical Nuclear Structure from Carnegie Mellon University, where they studied from 1984 to 1988. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Physics at the same university from 1982 to 1984. Kevin began their undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1978, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics with a minor in Mathematics in 1982.

In addition to their formal education, Kevin has also pursued various certifications in the field of computer science. Kevin has obtained certificates in subjects such as server-side development with NodeJS, multiplatform mobile app development with web technologies, front-end JavaScript frameworks (specifically AngularJS), front-end web UI frameworks and tools, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, reproducible research, exploratory data analysis, principles of computing (part 1), an introduction to interactive programming in Python (part 2), getting and cleaning data, R programming, an introduction to interactive programming in Python (part 1), and the data scientist's toolbox. These certifications were earned through Coursera Course Certificates between 2015 and 2017.
