Matt Vargas

Matt Vargas has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Matt currently holds the position of VP of Sales at EMCORE Corporation since December 2022. Prior to that, they served as the TACNAV Business Development Manager at KVH Industries, Inc. where they were responsible for the business development of TACNAV family of inertial navigation products. Matt held this role from November 2020 to August 2022, when the company was acquired by EMCORE Corporation.

Before joining KVH Industries, Inc., Matt Vargas worked as the Vice President of Business Assistance at RI Commerce Corporation from August 2018 to November 2020. Matt also has a strong background in the military, having held positions such as the COO and Veteran Advocate at Veterans Assembled electronics (VAe) from April 2014 to November 2020. During their time at VAe, they implemented quality immersion programs to train disabled veterans as journeyman electronics technicians.

Other notable roles include serving as a business development manager at Bridge Technical Talent for a brief period in 2014, and as a business consultant at Eze Castle Software from June 2012 to July 2013. Matt Vargas also has military experience, having served as a Special Forces Engineer Liaison Officer at CFSOCC-A from September 2010 to November 2012, the Executive Officer at 100th Engineer Company from November 2009 to August 2010, and the Platoon Leader at 57th Sapper Company from April 2008 to July 2009, where they led a platoon of 45 soldiers and maintained 100% accountability of engineer equipment. Matt was also a qualified jumper in the only rough terrain/smoke jumper Airborne company in the U.S. Army.

Matt Vargas began their education in 2003 at the United States Military Academy, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Environmental Engineering. Matt graduated from the Academy in 2007. In 2015, they enrolled in the University of Rhode Island's College of Business and attained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in 2017. Prior to their higher education, Matt Vargas attended Bishop Hendricken, although the specific years and any degrees or fields of study are unknown.
