Scientific Developer at Emerald Cloud Lab

Yanzhe Zhu has had a diverse range of work experiences in scientific and research roles. They started their career as a Research Assistant at the Washington University in St. Louis Department of Chemistry, where they developed a non-ideal pH model for geological carbon sequestration simulations. They then served as a Technology Intern at SABIC-Innovatic Plastics and an Engineering Consultant at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, Interdisciplinary Environmental Clinic.

Yanzhe then pursued a graduate degree at Caltech and worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in both the Department of Geology and the Environmental Science and Engineering division. In these roles, they gained experience in designing and fabricating microfluidic chips, simulating multiphysical phenomena, and developing hydrogel bead-based platforms for single-cell analysis.

Following their graduate studies, Yanzhe became a Postdoctoral Researcher at Caltech, focusing on their scientific research. Their most recent work experience is as a Scientific Developer at Emerald Cloud Lab, where they are currently employed.

Yanzhe Zhu completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Environmental Science and Engineering at Caltech. This degree was pursued between 2015 and 2020.
