Tony Roche is the current Chief Executive at Emerald Group Publishing. Prior to this, they worked as Publishing Director for Business and Management Sciences journals with Elsevier from January 1995 to June 2012. During their time with Elsevier, they led the business and management sciences group, which was the market leader in terms of article share, citation influence, and article downloads. The publishing programme consisted of over 80 journals in fast-growing market segments such as business, management, marketing, tourism, accountancy, and operations research/decision sciences. The programme had the highest number of journals of any publisher used in the Financial Times’ influential Research Rank, which forms the basis for its business school ranking activities. Some of the leading journal brands included: Accounting, Organisations and Society, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Business Venturing, Organizational Behaviour and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Operations Management and Journal of Consumer Psychology.

Tony Roche completed an MSc in Climate research and modelling at Royal Holloway, University of London.
