Design Director at Emerald X

Marisa Lowey-Ball has a diverse work experience in the field of graphic design and branding. Marisa started their career as a Graphic Design Intern at SOURCED. a California Collective in 2015. In the same year, they also worked as a Web and Graphic Designer at Eternity Crossfit, where they redesigned the website to improve its usability and visual appeal.

In 2016, Marisa joined Saddleback College as a Publicity Assistant in the Fine Arts Dept. Marisa was responsible for creating promotional materials for theatrical and musical performances, including advertising posters, performance programs, and marketing emails.

In 2018, Marisa joined Emerald as a Graphic Designer. Marisa worked closely with the Creative Director to design marketing materials for tradeshows, including print and digital content. Marisa also collaborated with event decorators to implement signage plans.

In 2022, Marisa was promoted to Design Lead at Emerald. In this role, they transitioned assets to online-first content and maintained consistent branding across various mediums. Marisa also designed wayfinding systems for event signage to guide attendees through large convention center halls.

Currently, Marisa is serving as Design Director at Emerald, where they create and develops new branding ideas and manages daily creative requests. Marisa also maintains and updates style guides for multiple event brands.

Marisa Lowey-Ball holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and another Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art from the same institution. Marisa also obtained a Certificate in Graphic Design and Web Design from Saddleback College. In addition, they have certifications in "Build a free website with WordPress" and "Introduction to User Experience Design" from Coursera, which were obtained in 2023.
