2024 Summer Americorps Positions - Reapplication ONLY

We're so glad you've decided to reapply with AmeriCorps at Emerald Youth!

There are 3 kinds of AmeriCorps positions available with Emerald Youth during the summer:

• Children's Role - Implement enriching, structured elementary (ES) school level daytime activities.

• Youth/Children's Role - Implement enriching, structured middle school (MS) level daytime activities with some elementary school (ES) and/or high school (HS) level responsibilities.

• Learning Role (LAC) - Facilitate planned elementary (ES) and middle school (MS) academic activities as well as other structured daytime activities. Perfect for aspiring teachers.

Details applicable to all positions:

• Start May 13, 2024 and serve until July 19, 2024.

• Serve 35-38 hours, M - F, during the day.

• Receive a living allowance of $4,200 less taxes while you serve (like pay). Portions of this total are direct deposited into members’ personal banking account twice a month (to be used however needed) during your term. **Please note that this is the only money you receive while serving. There are no other wages or salaries given to AmeriCorps members while they are an active member.

• Obtain $1,459.26 less taxes for school or student loans (called an Education Award as mentioned above) after you successfully complete a term of service.

• Participate in training and team building.

AmeriCorps Development Days/Socials (ACDDs) - highly encouraged:

• AmeriCorps members will come together at least once after initial preservice training for reflection.

Emerald Youth Foundation has certain expectations of their AmeriCorps members, both on and off "the clock." Please THOROUGHLY review the link below before applying as you will be expected to sign this agreement of personal standards on your first day and adhere to them for the duration of your AmeriCorps term.

AmeriCorps and religious activities.

AmeriCorps is a federally funded program; therefore, members are not allowed to accrue hours for any faith/spiritual/religious activities.  (If you would like to participate in these activities, you would have to do so voluntarily).
