JOB TITLE: SOCCER MINISTRY ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF COACHING (DOC)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Soccer Ministry Assistant Director of Coaching is responsible for helping to enhance the Emerald Youth sports program experience for players, coaches, and parents. The Soccer Ministry Assistant Director of Coaching’s primary day-to-day responsibilities are for Academy and middle school soccer programming and support of the Club soccer program if directed. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Organize the Academy Soccer League and middle school Soccer League and meet with the Sports & Recreation Directors from the neighborhoods to disseminate relevant information.

  • Provide templates to recruit players for both leagues and market Club tryouts to Academy and middle school players.  Work with Communications Team to ensure prevalent and cohesive branding is used and include FCA logo where applies.

  • Provide orientation for coaches and FCA Chaplains.  Support coaches with training, drills, etc. to help improve their coaching skills.

  • Ensure regular season and all tournament play for both leagues is scheduled at EY facilities.

  • Provide on-site support during the leagues including visiting multiple EY facilities as necessary.

  • Distribute uniforms and supplies and collect fees.

  • Assist with the Club Soccer program as directed by the Director of Coaching.

  • Track player and volunteer participation.  Compile, analyze, and disseminate information regarding comprehensively engaged especially for those involved in Emerald Youth Sports.

  • Ensure BMIs are being collected.  Help compile, analyze, and submit information as needed.

  • Help recruit and find coaches, volunteers, and FCA Chaplains.  Ensure candidates are screened through Human Resources.  Engage relationally with all.  Help support culture for securing support from indigenous populations in both volunteering and employment. Help ensure quality assurance of coaches and volunteers.

  • Thank and recognize volunteers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Dedicated Christian with clear knowledge of the Gospel and a passion for the mission of Emerald Youth Foundation; connected to a church community; possesses a strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and high moral standards.
  • Sports Management or related bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a related position.
  • National Youth Diploma or USSF D or better Coaching License preferred.
  • Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and communication tool.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and business acumen.
  • Ability to achieve results under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work extended hours.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative setting.
  • Willingness to obtain a CDL license, if requested.
