Mike Fossum

Mike Fossum is an investigative lieutenant in the Violent Crime Investigations Division at MPD, overseeing the Assault Unit and the Shooting Team since August 2016. Additionally, Mike serves as the secretary for the Bloomington Housing & Redevelopment Authority since 2001. Previous experience includes working as a uniformed patrol officer with the Federal Protective Service from March 1984 to January 1986 and serving in the U.S. Army from September 1978 to June 1981. Mike holds a Master's in Public Administration and Political Science from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and completed education at the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy in 1997. Mike's foundational education includes graduating from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis.
