Blaise Bodin has extensive work experience in various organizations and roles related to environmental conservation and climate change mitigation.

In 2010, Blaise worked as a consultant for the French Foundation for Research on Biodiversity. Later, in 2011, they served as a trainee in the Environmental, Climate and Social Office of the European Investment Bank.

From 2012 to 2015, Blaise worked at UNEP-WCMC as an Assistant Programme Officer and later as a Program Officer in the Climate and Biodiversity Programme. During this time, they focused on supporting government officials in developing countries in understanding the interaction between biodiversity, ecosystem services, and ecosystem-based climate mitigation initiatives like REDD+. They also coordinated work on REDD+ in Central Africa, Brazil, and the Asia-Pacific Region.

Blaise then joined the UN Environment Programme in 2016 as a Consultant in the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity. In this role, they provided overall support to the Forest Programme Officer and worked on various projects, including the Forest Ecosystem Restoration Initiative and the ITTO-CBD Collaborative Initiative for Tropical Forest Diversity.

In 2018, Blaise worked as a Consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), specifically focusing on forest and landscape restoration mechanisms. They developed methodologies to estimate the costs and benefits of Forest Landscape Restoration and organized an expert meeting on the same topic.

Blaise also worked as a consultant for Asesoramiento Ambiental Estratégico (AAE) in 2018 and 2019. They were responsible for developing Suriname's Summary of Information (SoI) and Safeguards Information System (SIS) for REDD+.

Most recently, Blaise joined Emergent in 2022 as the Vice President of Supply Operations. In this role, they are responsible for managing relationships with host jurisdictions in Brazil and wider South America to supply carbon credits for the LEAF coalition. They work closely with national and sub-national governments to guide them in the development of transactions for emission reductions in the forest sector.
