Executive Vice President, Brazil at Emergent

Juliana Santiago has a diverse and extensive work experience history. Juliana currently serves as a member of the Advisory Board at Climate Ventures, starting in April 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Managing Director at Emergent, where they acted as the strategic leader and spokesperson for the Brazil region and coordinated technical engagement with the LEAF Coalition. Juliana'sresponsibilities included managing institutional relations with governments, NGOs, and IPLCs representatives. Juliana also served as an Advisory Board Member at Conexsus - Instituto Conexões Sustentáveis and Belterra Agroflorestas from 2020 onwards.

In terms of education, Juliana completed their Master of Arts in Latin American Studies at the University of Florida from August 2019 to August 2021. Juliana conducted research on the Amazon Fund's adaptive governance in supporting conservation of tropical forests. Juliana also worked at BNDES, where they held various positions, including Advisor to the Deputy Director of the Sustainability Division, Head of the Amazon Fund - Environmental Division, Team Lead Manager - Sanitation and Waste Management Division, and Project Coordinator - Financial Division.

Before their tenure at BNDES, Juliana was a Senior Manager at EY, where they worked for over a decade. Juliana gained experience in auditing, financial consulting, and management reporting. Juliana is a certified public accountant and participated in the EY Global Exchange Program.

Juliana Santiago's education history includes a Master of Arts degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Florida, which they completed from 2019 to 2021. In 2015, they attended the London Business School to pursue a course in Negotiating and Influencing Skills for Senior Leaders. In 2014, Juliana attended the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Executive Education for a program in High Performance Leadership. Before that, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Corporate Finance from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, specifically from the IAG-PUC Business School, which was completed by 2000. Juliana'sundergraduate studies were conducted at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro from 1993 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Accounting and a minor in Economics.
